Photo A Day Challenge March 2014

The #ontheroad theme started off easier because I was traveling quite a bit for the first third of the month, but then things slowed down and I wasn’t out and about nearly as much. I found I ended up looking at the same kind of things and it felt a bit repetitive. For April, I decided to go with #fun since the month kicks off with a silly holiday.

Sharing details was harder than I expected. Sometimes I felt like I needed to explain more or else it might not make sense. And then there were the times where I just wasn’t paying attention to details quite as much. For March I’m going with a phrase: #ontheroad – should provide quite a bit of fodder, don’t you think?

I liked capturing bits and pieces of a #moment for this theme! It was pretty easy to find things to share and I didn’t feel limited to taking similar types of shots. As for February, I’ve chosen to do #detail since I tend to notice a lot of random things, which most people probably don’t.

I may not be ready for 2014, but it’s here, so I’ll just take a quick look back at the last month’s photo a day shots to take me back to 2013… I liked playing with different interpretations for #light. To kick off this year, I’ll go with a more abstract theme of moment(s). It should offer a lot of flexibility!

It’s December?! I’m not ready! All too soon it’s going to be 2014… yikes! Well, at least this is my favorite month (I’m not biased – I mean, I only love it because it’s my birth month). So for this month I’m going with a theme of #light since it’s a season full of brightness and beauty. And here’s a review of November’s #color theme:

Wow, work really makes a month fly by. I’m not ready for November! So here’s the October #footseyeview pics… this turned out to be quite a challenge! I felt like it was too easy to get a boring picture when looking downwards. With that in mind, I’m going with #color for this upcoming month, which should provide far more interesting content.

Yikes, what happened to September?! With work keeping me busy, it kind of just flew by. Here’s the roundup of my #upandout theme. October shall be the month of #footseyeview! Whether looking down at what my feet are on or in, or even where they may be propped up, it’ll definitely be a different type of look from always looking up and/or out.

Alright, so I did my #monthoffood personal photo challenge and found that my habits are on the greasy side, with a sprinkling of fruits and veggies. Not the best but boy is it yummy. 😉 For September I’ve decided to do a theme of #upandout where I focus more on what I see and encounter when I look up and/or out. Catch you next month when it’s all done! And here is a look at the food I ate throughout August:

Hello August! Now that you’re here and I did my first personal photo challenge month, I’m going to theme you. Let’s start with something easy: food! For this month I’ll highlight some of the things I eat and hopefully find that I’m not too unhealthy… in the mean time, let’s review what happened in July!

Learn more about 365great here.

365great challenge day 38: 1 second everydayI’ve officially completed a full month’s worth of 1SE clips! I found out about this fun project through Kickstarter, where I backed it and got to download it from the App Store when it launched. I was a bit late to the game (oops) and didn’t redeem my copy for quite awhile, but I finally got around to it and I’ve been having a blast! It’s so entertaining to watch little 1-second clips of days gone by and remember what was happening in that moment. For the most part, it only holds meaning for me, but it’s so meaningful.

If you’ve ever done a photo a day sort of project, you sort of know what I’m talking about. But the added dimensions of video make it even more powerful and it’s a fabulous way to look back on your life. You’ve seriously got to try it! Now you don’t have to rely on still visuals solely to share your story and record those memories. You can incorporate motion and sound, which are very enriching. I’ve had video clips that I chose purely for the sound that it had captured. What a fun, simple way to capture snippets of your life. And the app makes it super easy to clip and compile. It’s great!!
