365great challenge day 199: flowersI’m a fan of many types of plants, but flowers are a surefire way to enhance a space so just about anyone would like it. They add color and sometimes fragrance to enliven an area. It’s no wonder you find them along streets, on tabletops, and adorning windowsills. Look at how they spruce up the front of this building! While many women enjoy a bouquet of these beauties, I find them to be useless in that form so I’d much rather get a live plant in a pot. That way I can enjoy the flowers year after year (assuming I can keep them alive). Flowers come in so many gorgeous shapes, sizes, and colors that you’re sure to find one that appeals to you. My personal favorite is the orchid, though anything purple or blue is perfect too. Whatever your preference, flowers are a great way brighten your day.

Conscious Box September review

Gosh, it’s already time for my 5th free Conscious Box! I won a total of 6 so next month will be my last one… Sad times, but I do have plenty of products to keep me occupied for quite some time.

Conscious Box is just under $20 per box (or as discounted as just over $203 for an entire year, with options in between) and comes with many samples from about a dozen brands. Choose from their Classic, Vegan, or Gluten-free box. Boxes are sent monthly with no option to skip. They offer a referral link program.

I took off the label this time and found that there were words underneath!

What a cute squirrel. 🙂

What came in the September Conscious Box.

No postcard or info sheet this time, but there was the adorable theme card with the squirrel on it. Fits well with the All ‘Bout Trees logo. I can definitely get behind a brand that strives to produce eco-conscious clothing, though I feel like a sample would have been nice. Maybe a cute little “squirrel-sized tee” or even just a swatch of cloth. Their collection is still pretty limited and I’d like to see them offer more styles. The bulk of the weight box was the Saffron Road Tikka Masala sauce, which I will most certainly be cooking with. What an easy way to make food taste good. I’m fascinated by African black soap so I can’t wait to try the Coastal Scents sample and see if it calms down my skin. The Avalon Organics lavender shampoo will be perfect for bringing on a trip or keeping at the apartment when we’re in the middle of moving to the condo. The aquatowel is perfect to keep in the car to wipe my hands or face when I can’t get to a sink.

I’m a bit intimidated by the appliednutrition liquid collagen and might need to put that off for a bit. I’ve got a ton of supplements and other boosters I really need to start taking and the Doctor’s Best Ribose tablets, K Pax Energy tablets, and Natural Vitality kids’ multi will go in that pile. I’m really enjoying the single serving snacks and drinks, which are perfect for me to take to work. The orange E Boost health booster and Good Boy BOPS are totally going in my bag, but the Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Goodnight Grape herbal tea shall remain home. Who wants to fall asleep at work, right? Oh, and the compostable plastic bag is fantastic! I always wonder if they get composted if I put it in recycling though… or should I leave them in trash and let them get picked out?

This time the box definitely included more items that I haven’t tried and are a bit outside my comfort zone. I do like that it’s allowing me to go beyond my normal product types. What do you think of these items?
