How in the world did people figure out that they could make cloth out of this funny little plant? It’s pretty amazing to me and I love how soft and comfortable cotton clothes can be. Cotton is a funky plant that looks like a field of flowers from afar, but then you get close and you find this strange glob of stringy bits. I remember driving down to South Carolina last year and wondering what plants the fields contained, only to realize that it wasn’t some sort of food as I had imagined, but cotton! When we got the chance, I had Panda pull over so I could admire them up close. What a cool experience. I’d love to watch the process for turning that cotton plant into threads to make our clothes with. What a unique, useful, and great plant!
