Mayor Villaraigosa sent Opportunity Green a lovely message officially declaring 11.11.11 Opportunity Green Day! How awesome.
Volunteering the past few days has been busy, so here are some shots. No time to write much yet!
iGo sponsored the charging station we had for people's devices.
We charged over a dozen phones at a time!
Fantastic lunch from Tendergreens! I loooved the kale.
The main stage area was huge and had some really cool lighting.
This light was created with what looked like old milk jugs or some similar plastic. Reminds me of the scales on a fish!

You know, the nice thing about the holiday season is that it’s a gifting season. I was completely surprised when we started receiving cards and gift baskets at the office last year. It was my first time in a work environment where that happened and it was pretty exciting! Each week brought more and more food until the whole office was pigging out constantly. I even got a Patagonia bag from one of our clients! It’s only about another month now and the giving should be upon us again.

Pelicans! Real live ones!
Wow, their marine layer came in really early!
You can't even tell the ocean is right there.
It's a haunting image made even more eerie by the foggy air.
Driving up allows for this view of Santa Barbara, now completely covered by the marine layer that crept over.

At Opportunity Green, you’re bound to find out about cool products like these lunch boxes that come in a cool, sealable design. It also includes a box for a sandwich half, a container for sauce, and a fork!
Duchess and I used our Box Appetit lunch boxes made by Black + Blum for the very first time together!

Bruins should know that UCLA stands not only for University of California, Los Angeles, but also Under Construction, Like Always. And so it is, with never-ending construction projects going on somewhere on campus at all times.
Look at that tangle of cement and metal!
That is quite the pile of rubble!
Whatever the plans are, apparently they decided to leave this one tree standing.
Just making sure there is no water explosion!
So much greenery gone! Are they really putting a building there?!
