December 29th, 10 PM. My dad and have been waiting at JFK for two hours, wondering if we can get on the last flight to LA that night. The recent blizzard that swept through the area left many passengers stuck in the airport for days. Thankfully, we were lucky enough to get seats so I wouldn’t have to spend my birthday in the airport!
Grab those dinky red and blue 3D glasses you got as a kid and take a look at these shots! Best viewed by clicking on the photos for the full size. Then check out the artist, Stuart Sperling!
My parents and I went to a gathering of some family friends down in Newport today to celebrate the upcoming year. There were six of us “kids” (the under 30s) and we had fun chatting over lunch at the kids’ table, playing some Wii Fit (I learned I am very well balanced on the board), and singing karaoke songs, English and Chinese. I drank a lot of tea and tasted a cool one from Hawaii with a macadamia flavor.
A funny moment came when I first arrived and the host daughter introduced me to my mom, not knowing we were related. 😛 “Why yes, actually, I have met her…” Haha! and here are some shots of the food we enjoyed:
I was walking by some rooms in Saxon Suites on the UCLA campus when this kitty caught my eye. We’re not supposed to have animals in the rooms, so I wonder if those blinds were supposed to hide the cat, not frame him in the light. Oh how I miss having a cat! I can’t wait until I can get one again, one that will be naughty like this cat and let his curiosity guide him, defying any rules.
That’s what my cat did back in NY. He got us kicked out from a temporary living situation because he peeked through the blinds when management was walking by. We weren’t supposed to have a pet there. So, we had to move into the Hilton in Danbury until our house was ready for move-in. What a naughty little cat.
