One way

Last week, we were driving by the Kennedy Center when all traffic got diverted to the opposite side of the road and suddenly we found ourselves on a one-way on the wrong side of the road.  Once the cones were gone, we were free to get back to the right side (which Panda did), but some of the cars continued on their merry way like nothing was wrong.  So random!  Well, now that I’ve heard that Ellen was getting an award in the Kennedy Center recently, I wonder if that’s why our route was disrupted…

The right side was reserved for Kennedy Center traffic only.

A few blocks later, the divider was gone and we got back over to the right again.

Sleeping ritual

Missy loves to massage me, the pillow, or Rupert right before she settles down for a nap. It’s become a ritual for us, kind of like when a dog spins in circles to get into position for rest. She always purrs gently, kneads at something cushy, and sticks her nose into whatever she’s massaging, hehe. She’ll massage anything that’s soft and squishy!

Remember that squirrel that randomly climbed all around my house?  Well, here’s some video of it in action, first just trying to get away, then being too scared to move because my cat had spotted it (but quickly lost interest), then hanging on to the chimney despite the windy conditions that day.

It’s beautiful out in Hawaii! Oh, but watch out for that vortex of swirling water as the power plant pumps out its hot water and it mixes with the cool ocean water. It’s not toxic but it might take you for a spin!

There are some key strategies: chirp flirtatiously (birds, you know what I’m talking about), run & pause, then stay your distance.  Eventually you’ll get the girl!

When the rain and sun cross paths, you get blossom rain (as I learned from Beneath Blossom Rain). It’s quite a beautiful thing!

Well, you know it’s truly fall when the ducks aren’t hanging around your pond anymore. They’re fun to watch and it’s a bit lonely without them.

The longest run I had took me almost back to shore! So what do you do when you’ve stopped moving forward?

My cat loves holing up in the Build-A-Bear box! She always sniffs around, paws the ground to make sure it’s all clean, then settles in. 🙂
