This was reminiscent of my grandfather’s house. Not that it’s quite so loud, but he does love to raise birds and out of sight in this clip are bamboo/wooden cages that really reminded me of the ones he has at his home.

Sometimes I like to sit outside and eat my Quizno’s, with the traffic on Sepulveda whizzing by. And every time that happens, curious and hungry birds are there, waiting for me to share some of my food. These two were particularly bold in demanding I feed them!
He sat across from me, carefully watching for his potential lunch.
A bit of a model, eh? Check out the classic over-the-shoulder glance. Perhaps he was trying to impress me so I'd feed him. 😛
I decided to share some of my bread and he nearly got within arm's length.
He made it very clear what he was waiting for. Quite persistent!

I’ve been watching the Life series on the Discovery Channel and seen a bunch of cool animals from all corners of the earth. It reminds me of this beetle I saw in Hong Kong, which looked so shiny and was so unbelievably large that I could hardly believe it was real. Exactly why I decided to take a video of it, to ensure that you know just how alive it was.

A short clip of an elephant ride I took and some pictures to go with!

The elephants coming in so we can hop on for a ride!
Aww, I was tempted to try to "shake hands."
This little boy may be young, but he's an expert elephant driver!
Here comes my ride, ready for a spin.
I joined a mother-daughter pair on our elephant.
We were so high up I got a close look at these butterflies!
They've got this crazy coarse skin that feels really cool. Also note how their ears are used as racks for the hook used to cut up wood.
Check out how cool it is. 🙂
Oh dear, he just decided it was time and went for it.
Those hooks were used to get pieces of these trees for the elephants to eat. Apparently they find it very tasty.
We had a nice field to roam around and at one point, it looked like the people were floating in the trees.
And after our little spin around, it was time to return to the loading dock and head off to the next adventure.
